Battle For The Jam 2017 Acts Announced

on

The Thirsty Cowboy has announced the participating bands for this year’s Battle for the Jam.  The competition starts on Thursday, July 6 and continues on July 13 & 20 with a Final competition on August 3 with the top two bands from the preliminary rounds. Each week the Thirsty Cowboy hosts two bands that each get a 45-minute set to play for the crowd and judges.  The winner will play at the Thirsty Cowboy Saloon at the WGAR Country Jam on Saturday, August 19 at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea.

The Battle for the Jam roster is:

July 6   – Erin Stoll (9pm) /  Broken Reins (10pm)

July 13 – Josh Surgeon (9pm) / The Styles Haury Band (10pm)

July 20  – Country Rein (9pm)  /  Shelby County Line (10pm)

August 4 – FINALS

In addition to the Country Jam performance, the winners will also receive a custom back drop for the band to use at the Jam and keep for future shows and tickets to the Jam for family & friends.  The winning act will also be included in the radio and and other advertising and will be booked on a Saturday later this year at the Thirsty Cowboy in Medina.

The winner will be determined through various criteria including Music, Stage Presence & Crowd Interaction, Appearance & Personality and Crowd Applause.  A lot of the winning will have to do with the crowd. So, if you have a favorite, plan to be at the club that night and make some noise! If you don’t have a favorite come out and enjoy a great night of music from two great country bands on Thursday nights in July.

The Battle for the Jam will be hosted by WGAR on-air personalities. For the first three preliminary rounds Brian Fowler of the Brian & LeeAnn Morning Show will be on hand and for the Finals, Shotgun Taylor will be there to emcee the event.

The best part is that the Battle for the Jam performances are FREE, with no cover charge!!
