Chase Bryant Heats Up Thirsty Cowboy

on

On what was a perfect night for an indoor concert, a wet and chilly one, the start of the Thirsty Cowboy concert season warmed up the folks who came out to see Chase Bryant.  The singer had performed the night before in Colorado, but neither the long trip to Ohio or the weather seemed to affect the performance from Bryant and his band.

The entertainment began with Green, Ohio native Kyle Thomas, who was in town from Nashville and played an acoustic set for the large crowd that nearly filled every seat and almost all of the dance floor at the club.  Thomas played a half hour filled with covers and even threw in some originals.  The crowd sang along and you could tell that the energy of the room was getting higher and higher as Thomas neared the end of his set.

By the time that Bryant was ready to take the stage the place was getting even more crowded with people who had never seen Bryant live before and people like Katie Edwards of Illinois who drove almost six hours to get to see her favorite performer again.  But, everyone was there for the same reason – to get lost in the music and forget about life for awhile.   Bryant’s set provided exactly that as he got things going from the start with “Secrets.”  He kept things going with other songs that included “Wayfarer Weather” and “Jet Black Pontiac.”

The Texas native also included some covers including Brooks & Dunn’s, “Play Somethin’ Country” and “Red Dirt Road.”  He had a chance to cut loose on a cover of Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin” that the crowd was happy to sing along with. The 23 year old, who turns 24 on October 9, also introduced his band Scott Hundley (guitar), Jake Gammon (drums) and Isaac Wriston (bass) and then each had a chance to take the spotlight and play for the crowd, Bryant was last and showed his prowess on guitar, as well.

Bryant’s new album is due out soon and he shared lots of tracks with the Thirsty Cowboy crowd including the first single released during the summer, “Room To Breathe,” and of course played his hits “Little Bit of You” and ended the night with a fun and entertaining performance of “Take It On Back” that had the crowd singing along and again let Bryant show off his guitar skills.

The show seemed to be over too soon and from the reaction of the crowd it was a perfect start to the concert season at Thirsty Cowboy.
