Colt Ford came “Back” to Thirsty Cowboy

on

Once again, on March 4, Colt Ford brought his raw, but impeccable talent to the Thirsty Cowboy in Medina.  Headlining the show, Ford came out onto the stage at about 10 p.m. and gave the crowd exactly what they paid for, a personal concert for us all to not only witness, but be a part of his “sing along” hits including his opener of “Crank It Up” and continuing with favorites such as “Cricket on a Line,” “Dirt Road Anthem” and one of my favorites, “Back.”  Which he promised he would be soon, “Back.”

Opening earlier in the evening for Ford was a first timer to Thirsty Cowboy, local rock band Shawn Perry and the Hazzard County Rebellion.  I had a chance to quickly interview Perry before the show and he labels their music as Classic/hard rock influenced by Country, and being a little bit of “Chicken Fried.”  Consisting of 6 official members, including two ladies, and only together since 2014, Perry said that on July 4th this year, they will be releasing their album titled “America.”  He also spoke about how he is currently label shopping and enjoys opening up for artists such as Ford.  Their music was definitely more rock than country, but very well together, and had the crowd jumping.  If I had to put a label on their style I would say it was an AC/DC-Lynyrd Skynyrd kinda jam night.
