Dierks Bentley to Release Ninth Studio Album, The Mountain

on

Dierks Bentley will release his ninth studio album, The Mountain, on June 8.

The 13-track project includes collaborations with Sam Bush, Brandi Carlile, Jerry Douglas, Tim O’Brien and Brothers Osborne. The duo will be a supporting act on Bentley’s The Mountain Tour launching in May and both acts will make a stop at this year’s The Country Fest in North Lawrence, Ohio on June 16.

Bentley traveled to Collorado to write and record the new album. He has wanted to be able to share where’s he’s from for years and this seemed like the perfect fit. He first visited Wyoming and performed at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and then the creativity began to flow.

“There’s an intangible magic to that location,” Bentley told Entertainment Weekly. “I thought, ‘Man, I wish I could capture this feeling.’”
The album will be filled with both songs about the beautiful landscape of the area, but also the knowledge that the 42-year-old has obtained over his career.

“I’m sure I’ll say the same thing in my 50s, but the wisdom that’s come in my 40s has been insane. I look back on myself and I have a lot of compassion for that guy,” Bentley said.

You can start to order The Mountain Preoder Package on Friday, April 13. Along with the digital download of the album (on it’s release date), they also come with a key code to unlock The Enhanced Album Experience and The Key Necklace, which features words inspired by the lyrics on the new album.
