Fill Miranda’s Little Red Wagon at the Livin’ Like Hippies Tour

on

There are many reasons why folks are excited to see Miranda Lambert this Saturday (March 3) at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland. The Texas born and bred singer has had every album she has released hit #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Albums Chart since her debut, Kerosene in 2005. She has charted more than 30 singles, including the number one hits “The House That Built Me,” “Heart Like Mine” and “Over You.” And, one of my favorite reasons is her love of animals, especially dogs.

She has combined her passion for animals and music on her 24-city Livin’ Like Hippies Tour with the “Fill the Little Red Wagon” initiative. The activity is part of her MuttNation Foundation and will collect dog food, treats, supplies & cash donations for Friendship Animal Protective League of Lorain County at Gate A of the venue.

Lambert, who owns 8 rescue dogs, says, “I always try to combine my two passions which are music & mutts. I’ve gotten to meet some amazing people that run shelters in the communities where we perform, and I always love connecting with other dog-loving fans.”

Those who drop off donations will also be entered to win Meet & Greets with the dog lovin’ country star for themselves and a guest.

MuttNation, which was started by Lambert and her mom, Bev, in 2009 helps shelters across the country provide medical attention, spay and neuter programs and education to end animal cruelty and homelessness.

In addition to collecting donations while out on tour, MuttNation recently gave grants to more than 50 animal shelters ranging from $3,000-$5,000. Mutts Across America program has cumulatively awarded over 200 shelters with more than $775,000. The MuttNation Board of Directors researches and selects the shelters based on a range of criteria including: adoption rate, volunteerism, fiscal responsibility, community presence and other important areas of interest.

Lambert also has her own collection of pet products that benefits the foundation. The MuttNation Fueled by Miranda Lambert collection of pet products includes everything from bedding and clothes, to collars and leashes. One of the most sought after are the Rescue Mutts stuffed toy collection—each created from a real-life rescue dog with its own story depicting the dog’s adoption and their new family. Lambert’s first rescue dog, Delilah is one of the “mutts” featured.

“I am really excited to see all our hard work and great product now available, I hope y’all love it as much as we do. I know my dogs do!” stated Lambert. “I really hope that we can raise awareness to the joy of adopting a shelter pet through our MuttNation product line.”

Miranda Lambert will bring her Livin’ Like Hippies Tour with special guests Jon Pardi and The Steel Woods to the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University in Cleveland on Saturday, March 3. Show starts at 7pm. Tickets are $39.75-$74.75 and available through Ticketmaster.com.
