Granger Smith Has a Good Time at the WGAR Afternoon Saloon

on

While the weather was very questionable all day for the final Afternoon Saloon of the season at Quaker Steak & Lube, it held off and made for one great evening of music. As always The Caliber Band got the night started with the traditional covers and fan favorites that everyone loves to hear by them. By the end of The Caliber Band set the place was packed and you could tell that Granger Smith’s YEE YEE NATION was out in full force to support their favorite. The biggest question on many people’s minds was… Will Earl Dibbles Jr. (Smith’s alter ego) make an appearance this evening?

Granger came on stage to a massive applause and a big YEE YEE from the crowd could be heard several times throughout his set. Smith sang many tracks from his latest release Remington, including the title track. While Dibbles did not make an appearance due to time restraints, (Ha Ha) Smith did sing one his songs “City Boy Stuck.” Fans danced and sang along to his hits “Backroad Song,” “Like A Love Song” and “Country Boy Song.” But the fan favorite of the night and the song Smith ended his set with was “If The Boot Fits.”

After the show, the first 100 people in line got a chance to meet Smith inside Quaker Steak & Lube. The singer also let me know that he will be back in Northern Ohio at Dusty Armadillo in Rootstown on Sunday, November 27.
