Jacob Bryant Returns to Thirsty Cowboy

Though still a new name to many who listen to country radio, Jacob Bryant has been reaching fans with his authenticity and hard driving outlaw style of country music for years. He returns to Thirsty Cowboy in Medina on August 3 with special guest and Medina, Ohio native, Styles Haury.

Bryant released the single “Pour Whiskey On My Grave” earlier this year and the Southern Rock edgy tune has been resonating with fans ever since. The song is one that reminds the singer of a time when he would visit his mother’s grave toting several beers in hand.

When Bryant first heard the song at a writer’s round being performed by Jami Grooms, he was captivated by it and knew that he had to record it. “I was captivated because it reminded me of my mom – I always go to her grave, pour a beer out for her, drink one myself and visit with her. I mouthed over to my manager that I wanted to cut it, and here we are,” he stated in an interview earlier this year.

Bryant grew up in Jasper, Georgia, and learned to play guitar at the age of eight when he would watch his grandparents play in a bluegrass band. He later sang at church and after high school hit the road to play gigs wherever he could. Unfortunately, the singer & songwriter has experienced more than his share of pain and suffering along the way due to the passing of his mother, which resulted in his own battle with drugs and alcohol, as well as a marriage that eventually ended in divorce.

“I had trouble dealing with my mother’s death, and it took me looking in the mirror and realizing I wasn’t happy with the person looking back at me to turn things around. I was able, with help, to completely quit drinking for a long time and to get control of my life. My mother would have wanted me to continue on with my music; it was her dream. I kind of made her dream my dream,” shared Bryant.

Jacob Bryant will be performing at Thirsty Cowboy in Medina on Friday, August 3 with special guest Styles Haury. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8:30pm. Tickets are $10 and available at ThirstyCowboy.com or at the door. 18+ show.
