Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker Bring Summer Plays On Tour to Blossom

on

Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker kick off their Summer Plays On Tour in Toronto tonight (July 19)  and then will make their way to Blossom Music center on Friday. The tour will definitely be a hit filled one, but it’s hard to imagine who will be having more fun at the show – the fans or the acts on stage.

“One of the biggest reasons that we, together with Darius, kind of approached this concept of touring again together was because we had so much fun last time,” Charles Kelley says. “And still to this day, it was the biggest tour we had ever had. It was just so much fun.”

Lady Antebellum and Rucker toured together back in 2012 and made a June stop at Blossom during that run of shows with Thompson Square. This time they will be joined by Russell Dickerson who scored his first #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart with his single, “Yours.”

“You know, when the crowds come they’re gonna get over three hours worth of music that is just straight sing-alongs, constantly,” Kelley explained, “and that’s what we want.”

“Darius is just such a great entertainer, [we’re] great friends, and we’re gonna have a lot of collaborative moments on it too. And obviously I’ll have my golf buddy there with me during the day,” he added.

The title track of Lady Antebellum’s latest album, Heart Break, is working it’s way up the charts and nearing the top ten. Kelley also lends his vocals on Rucker’s latest single, “Straight to Hell,” along with Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan.

Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker bring the Summer Plays On Tour to Blossom Music Center on Friday, July 20 with special guest Russell Dickerson. Showtime is 7pm. Tickets are still available at LiveNation.com.
