Name of the Band/Act: Julia Neville

When did band form: 2014

Members: Julia Neville – Lead Vocals; Mike Neville – Rhythm Guitar; Seth Alexander – Drums; Jason Snoddy – Bass Guitar and Nate Breidenbaugh – Lead Guitar.

About the band: Julia Neville started performing when she was only 8 years old, but it wasn’t until 2014 that she realized that her talent was something she was ready to share with audiences again. She entered a karaoke contest and from that performance was invited to the Southern Ohio Opry House in Lucasville, Ohio to sing. By 2015 she was in Nashville recording her first single, “Six Strings are Hard on Diamond Rings,” which garnered her the Rural Roots Music Commission’s NTCMA (National Traditional Country Music Association) “Young Country Single of the Year” award. While in Music City she performed on stages including Tootsie’s, The Nashville Palace and The Full Moon Saloon.

Neville was asked to perform at the Country Night Lights in Athens, Ohio opening the show for Sam Hunt and decided it was time to get a full band together. With the help of her husband Mike Neville, who had been playing guitar for her since she started performing, they put together a group. The search found great musicians from Central and Southern Ohio, which includes Alexander (drums) and Snoddy (bass) from Athens, who are both currently enrolled in the Master’s Program for music – Alexander at Ohio University and Snoddy at Cincinnati University. Breidenbaugh (lead guitar) is from Chillicothe and enrolled in the Bachelor’s Music program for guitars at Ohio University.

In addition to opening for Hunt, the Logan, Ohio based band have also shared the stage with Brett Eldredge, Brothers Osborne, Chris Lane, Frankie Ballard and Jake Owen. The group has performed at various fairs and festivals in 2017 including headlining the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival and the Moonshine Festival, they also played the Hocking County Fair and were invited to perform during CMA Fest in Nashville.

Earlier this year Neville released her first EP, Survivor. The five-song collection shows off an eclectic mix of music from Neville on songs that deliver the message of not succumbing to the bad things that can happen in someone’s life.

Why you should see their show: Julia Neville captivates her audience with her voice and her high energy show. With a group of highly talented musicians, they never disappoint and always strive to bring as good a sound to their live shows as in the studio. Their mix of music is a blend of everything from 90’s country to new country and contains everything from her originals to songs from Carrie Underwood, Lee Ann Womack, Sara Evans, Maren Morris, Deanna Carter and many more. Whether you take in a show from Neville with her full band, or an intimate acoustic performance, it’s a show well worth experiencing.
