When did band form: Hard to put a start date on the group, but they have been playing the mid-west for about the last 5 years.
Members: Tyler Reid – Guitar/Vocals; Zach Albergottie – Lead Guitar/Vocals; Roger Jewel – Drums/Percussion; David McKeyz – Bass/Vocals; Jeff Yarsa – Engineer.
About the band: Tyler Reid has been influenced by many musical artists and it shows in his music. The debate in Country music over the past few years has been about what is the “real” Country music. For Reid and his band they find it a little disheartening and know it has happened before and will again. They feel that Country music is cyclical. Introducing a not-so new feel in one genre that begins to influence another making it ‘new’ or ‘modern’ is not a new phenomenon. That was the case in the 90’s for Country and it’s now the case once again. This time it’s country music being influenced by millennial pop, grunge rock and hip-hop. Reid feels that it’s not right vs. wrong – it’s simply different. And, Certainly not ground breaking if you look back at history.
The sounds that have influenced Reid the most range from Waylon Jennings, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Garth Brooks, and Vince Gill, to Dave Mathews, Nirvana, Billy Currington, and Eric Church and many more.
The Medina based Tyler Reid and his band have played a variety of festivals, fairs, charity events, and honky tonks from Ohio to Nashville. They played on the same stages as the likes of Josh Turner, Dustin Lynch, Toby Keith, and many more. They have recorded with musicians who have toured with Wynonna Judd, Cole Swindell, Luke Bryan, Tanya Tucker.
Why you should see their show: People tend to like familiar and new- when you come out to a Tyler Reid show that’s what you’ll get – a little of everything. One thing is for sure, that you will have one heck of a good time.
