Marty Stuart at Cain Park / Evans Amphitheater August 6

on

Years from now when people talk about the great personalities in country music — Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Bill Monroe — they’ll mention Marty Stuart. He’ll be among those personalities because he’s never been afraid to follow his vision…to stretch the boundaries of country music..to let in gospel, soul, and rock into his sound. Virtually everything he’s done from the halcyon “no hats” days of the 1990s until this day has paid tribute to the masters: Hank, Mother Maybelle, Cash, Merle.

Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives will be performing at Cain Park – Evans Amphitheater on Saturday, August 6.

Marty went solo after working for Lester Flatt and Johnny Cash and dragged country music into the 1990s clinging to the tassels of Lefty Frizzell and hollering like James Brown. Along the way he got a Golden Globe nomination for scoring Billy Bob Thornton’s All the Pretty Horses; collected five Grammy awards; married the beautiful country music legend Connie Smith; joined the Grand Ole Opry; brought together his Fabulous Superlatives (Kenny Vaughan on guitar, Harry Stinson on drums, Paul Martin on bass); unveiled the Marty Stuart Show on RFD TV; and took the last photograph of Johnny Cash.

On his latest release, the double-disc Saturday Night & Sunday Morning, Stuart captures all the authentic neon and stained-glass hues of country music – from love and sex to heartache and hardship to family and God – in twenty-three tracks.

Marty Stuart will be performing at the Cain Park – Evans Amphitheater in Cleveland Heights, Ohio with special guests Ryan Humbert and Emily Bates of  Shooter Sharp & The Shootouts on Saturday, August 6 at 8:00pm.  Tickets are $20/$30/$35 advance and $23/$33/$38 day of show. Tickets are available at the Cain Park Box Office or at all Ticketmaster locations, by phone 1-800-745-300 or at Ticketmaster.com
