Morgan Wallen Makes Surprise Appearance at Luke Bryan’s Concert

on

Morgan Wallen made a surprise appearance at Luke Bryan’s concert at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Friday night (July 30). It was his first appearance since a video of him using a racial slur was filmed of him in early February.

From Bryan’s reaction, Wallen’s appearance may have been a surprise to him, too.

“A really good friend of mine is here backstage tonight,” Aldean told him onstage. “I don’t know if you know this.”

“Do I need another tequila shot to get through this?” Bryan asked.

Wallen appeared on stage to a thunderous roar from the crowd and joined Bryan, Jason Aldean and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line during an acoustic portion of the concert. The 28-year-old sang his “Whiskey Glasses” and “More Than My Hometown,” and joined the rest for Aldean’s “She’s Country.”

“This is a song about staying true to yourself, and that’s been a really hard thing for me to do lately, but here I am,” Wallen stated before performing “More Than My Hometown.

Wallen was set to be a part of Bryan’s “Proud to Be Right Here” tour, but canceled all of those dates along with all of his summer festival dates in April amid controversy.

But, even with everything that has happened this year, Wallen continues to do well on the country charts. His Dangerous: The Double Album spent 10 weeks on top of the Billboard 200, making it the first album to spend its first 10 weeks at No. 1 since 1987.
