Morgan Wallen Shares Emotional New Song He Wrote For His Mom

on

Morgan Wallen has started to slowly resurface. Earlier this week (May 19) the singer showed up on stage at Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk & Steakhouse in Nashville and today (May 22) shared an unreleased song that he wrote for his Mom.

Wallen posted the video of him sitting at home playing the acoustic guitar and singing his self-penned tune, “Thought You Should Know.” He opens the video by sharing that, “I wrote this song for my mom a while ago, seemed like an appropriate time to share it.”

The song is set in the form of a phone call to his mom, Lesli Wallen. He gives his mom an update on all the things that have happened to him over the past few years, and he even shares that he found a girl in Jefferson City, that reminds him of his mom.

Here’s a few lyrics:
“Between alcohol and women, adderall and adrenaline, I don’t ever get no rest / Signed my life away to be the life of the party.”

Shortly after that post, Wallen shared a text from his mom that read “I want you to know Dad is still doing dumb shit!” His mom also commented on the song on his Instagram saying, “Love It! Love my boy!”

Wallen’s surprise appearance at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk included performances of his chart-topping single, “Whiskey Glasses,” as well as fan favorites “Sand In My Boots” and “Wasted On You” from his record breaking No.1 album, Dangerous: The Double Album.

Hopefully, as a little more time passes and Wallen works through the issues plaguing his personal life, he can get back to making more music and his fans happy!
