The Eric Sowers Band Releases Debut Album

on

The Eric Sowers Band

He grew up in a small Northern Ohio town called Sycamore, and has slowly worked hard to make a name for himself across Ohio playing shows from Kent and Port Clinton to Avon and Columbus. Eric Sowers may have gotten a late start in music by not getting his first guitar until he was 18, but he soon found that music was his passion.

Sowers headed for college at Ohio University in Athens, only to return home a year later to work for his parents while he attended Tiffin University and played solo shows at local bars when he could. After he graduated from Tiffin he kept performing solo gigs and started packing the local places he would play. It was then that he started to meet other musicians and soon after formed the Eric Sowers Band.

The Eric Sowers Band is composed of Eric on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Chase Dull on electric lead guitar and background vocals, Dylan Kromer on bass and background vocals, Neal Anderson on percussion and drums and Adam Thayer on keyboards and background vocals.

Since then The Eric Sowers Band has played fairs and festivals and opened shows for Jon Pardi, Eric Paslay, Brothers Osborne, Josh Thompson, Josh Gracin, The Cadillac Three, Waterloo Revival and Jason Michael Carroll.

They recently completed recording their debut album at Castle Recording Studios in Nashville, working with producer Gary Carter.  Carter has worked with many country acts including Randy Travis and Faith Hill.  The album contains tracks written by Sowers and some of the best songwriters from around the state.

The Eric Sowers Band will be performing at the Carey Fest in Carey, Ohio on Saturday, August 6; Bar 145 in Columbus, Ohio on Friday, August 12 and at the All Saints New Riegel Festival in New Riegel, Ohio on Saturday, August 13.

You can find out more about The Eric Sowers Band and their upcoming shows at their website EricSowersMusic.com  Their new 8-song album, My Kind of Country is available for download at iTunes and Google Play.

Chad Baker

With a strong appreciation for traditional country singers like Hank Williams, Jr. and Alan Jackson, Chad Baker started writing at an early age and by the time he was in high school was frequenting the local open mic nights and any bar he could to sing.

He will return to the Thirsty Cowboy in Medina, Ohio on Saturday, August 20 with his band. Baker has been working in the studio this summer and may have some new songs to break out at his performance on August 20.  He has been slowly narrowing down the songs that he hopes will make the cut for an EP that he hopes to have released sometime in early winter.

Erin Stoll

A grass roots country singer, Erin Stoll was born and raised in Wadsworth and currently calls Medina her home.  The country music singer and outdoor lover recently recorded her 5-song EP called Unfinished at the Beaird Studios in Nashville.

The album has some really nice tracks including the fun and uplifting “Truth Gonna Set You Free” which was my favorite.

Stoll has been performing a few dates in the area and will be at the Medina County Fair on Thursday, August 4 at 6:00pm and Jeagerfest in Wadsworth on Saturday, August 6 at 4:00pm.

Stoll’s new EP, Unfinished is available at iTunes, Google Play, Spotify and iHeart.  You can find out more about her and her upcoming shows on her Facebook page, Erin Stoll or at ReverbNation.com/erinstoll

Tyler Reid

For Medina native Tyler Reid, playing guitar and making music has been something he has been doing since he was in high school.  The country singer has a pretty relaxed and easy feel to his sets when he plays and his confidence shows through on the multitude of songs that he and his band perform.

Reid will be performing at the Rogues Hollow Festival in Doylestown on Friday, August 5 at 7:00pm; Thirsty Cowboy in Medina on Saturday, August 13 at 9:30pm and at Jewels Dance Hall in Austinburg, Ohio on Saturday, September 3.

Six Gun Justice

While out and checking out some country bands I had the chance to meet a guy named AJ, who goes by the stage name Six Gun Justice.  AJ plays and sings and writes his own songs with influences that range from Johnny Cash and Lynard Skynard to David Allan Coe, Kid Rock and Hank Williams, Jr. His music also has a range of everything from traditional to contemporary with hick hop and country rap.

You can check out Six Gun Justice’s music at ReverbNation.com/sixgunjustice and also check out his Facebook page. AJ is definitely an original who will entertain you no matter what kind of country music you like.

Angel & Josh

Toledo, Ohio natives Angel Edwards (lead vocals) and Josh McAfee (bass/vocals), aren’t the typical country duo.  The two originally met in 2013 when McAfee was invited to play at Edwards church.  Since they first met the two have become inseperable.

The chemistry that they have is evident on stage and off, and they have found that they work well writing songs together, too.  They started playing covers at local bars with just an acoustic guitar and a microphone. Now, in 2016 they play with a full band of some very talented musicians.  The duo still fronts the group but also keeps the band vibe alive. The band includes AJ Reynolds and James Gomez sharing guitar duties, with Mike Chalker laying it down on the drums.

Angel & Josh’s debut single “Drivin’ Me Wild”  was released on July 15, 2016 and is available on iTunes and Google Play. They’re currently writing and recording the rest of their EP that they plan to release before the end of the year.

They are performing at the Rock N Whiskey Saloon in Toledo, Ohio on Saturday, August 6; at Backyard BBQ and Booze on Sunday, August 7 and at Papa’s Tavern in Toledo, Ohio on Saturday, August 13.

You can find out more about Angel & Josh on their Facebook page or check out their website and listen to the new single and find out when they are playing in your neck of the woods at AngelandJosh.com

Country Redford

Country Redford is a band put together by lead vocalist Scott Redford. His plan was to put together a very talented rhythm section of musicians that could embody country music of today yet identify with Redford’s own individualistic style and vocal ability.

The Ashtabula, Ohio based country band consists of Scott Redford (lead vocals); Adam Davis (bass); Aaron Davis (guitar); Chris Preneta (guitar) and Tom Awesome (drums).

The band will be playing the Andover Lake Fest in Andover, Ohio on Sunday, August 7; Ashtabula County Fair in Jefferson, Ohio on Saturday, August 13 and Portage County Randolph Fair in Atwater, Ohio on Wednesday, August 24.

You can find out more about Country Redford at their Facebook page or check out their website for upcoming show dates and take a listen to their original music while your there at CountryRedford.com
