Toby Keith Heads to Canton and Readies New Album “The Bus Songs”

on

Toby Keith has written some of the most iconic songs during his music career and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2015. But, traveling on the road on a tour bus and writing songs late at night while he may or may not have had a shot or two may have something to do with the collection of songs on his upcoming album, The Bus Songs.

The 12-song collection may not have been put together with the thoughts of radio airplay from coast to coast, but they do offer a humorous and a little self-deprecating look at Keith. His fans will get to experience a little of what life is like on the road when the album is released on September 8.

The lead off single, “Wacky Tobaccy,” has already gone viral with more than 8 million views. The video was shot by Keith and his band appropriately enough on their tour bus and features someone that may come to mind when you hear the song title – Willie Nelson.

The album also reprises the song, “Weed With Willie” that was a bonus cut from his 2003 album Shock’n Y’all. The album’s other new composition is “Shitty Golfer,” a title which pretty much sums up the song.

Some never before released recordings include new versions of “Running Block,” “Ballad Of Balad,” “Hell No” and “The Critic.” A live version of the aforementioned “Weed With Willie” has also never been previously released.

Meanwhile, the Toby Keith Interstates & Tailgates Tour continues through the summer and will make a stop at Tom Benson Stadium at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton on Sunday, August 6 at 8:00pm. Keith is headlining the Concert for Legends with special guest Kid Rock. Tickets are $45, $60, $80, $99, $130, $180 and $230. Premium and Club Access seats are also available for $100 and $185, respectively and available at ProFootballHOF.com/tickets.
