Tyler Farr Delivers Big Time at Thirsty Cowboy

on

When singer/songwriter Tyler Farr walks into a bar these days, it’s a near certainty that something great is going to happen. This is especially true if he just happens to bring along his guitar. Friday night (Nov. 5) at Thirsty Cowboy in Medina provided proof of this. Farr and his highly talented band put on an exceptional show for the sold-out crowd. This particular appearance has been on people’s minds for a long time. The Covid-19 pandemic caused it to be rescheduled several times over the last year and a half or so. But once Farr took the stage and opened his set with “Whiskey in My Water,” three words immediately came to mind: WORTH THE WAIT!

From then on, Farr didn’t disappoint his fans as his set included all of his most popular numbers including: “Redneck Crazy,” “C.O.U.N.T.R.Y.,” “Better In Boots,” “Damn Good Friends” and “A Guy Walks Into A Bar.” There were a few fun covers on the set list as well, including my personal favorite, Sawyer Brown’s “Some Girls Do.” The most powerful moment in the show came when he performed his newest single “Cover Girl.” Farr really puts himself out there with this song by taking on the weighty topic of domestic violence. It’s not what you’d normally expect to hear in a show that’s heavily geared toward the more fun moments in life. But the message conveyed in the song is one we all can afford to hear and take to heart. Hats off to Tyler Farr for going where most singers and songwriters wouldn’t dare to go,

Tyler Farr put on one heck of a show Friday night, and if you haven’t seen him live, definitely do so the next time the opportunity presents itself. And if you haven’t listened to “Cover Girl” yet, make a point of doing so. I don’t know if it’ll be up for any music industry awards, but for my money, it sure ought to be.

Finally, I’d like to give a big shout out to Aaron Lind and his team at Thirsty Cowboy. This was our first time back for a show since right before the pandemic put life on hold, and we couldn’t have enjoyed the experience more. Y’all do a great job. Thank you!!!
