Alexandra Kay Delivers a Powerful Performance at Dusty Armadillo

on

Thursday night’s show at the Dusty Armadillo in Rootstown was more than just a packed country concert, it was a night with purpose. Hosted by WQMX 949FM, a sold out charity event for Bosom Buddies brought the community together for an evening of great music and giving back. This shared sense of meaning carried through every note, starting with a soulful opening set from Anna Scott and building to an unforgettable headlining performance by Alexandra Kay.

Originally from Cleveland, Anna Scott set the tone for the night with soulful confidence. She immediately drew the crowd in by blending originals with well chosen covers. Her storytelling skills paired seamlessly with the evening’s headliner. Her playful take on Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” felt like it was tailor made for a crowd fresh off their workday. A standout moment came during “Strawberry Wine,” which had the audience captivated in a full on sing along. She closed her set with her mom cheering enthusiastically from the sidelines. The upcoming release of her new song “Cowboy Cupid” certainly points at even more momentum ahead in her career.

When Alexandra Kay took the stage, the energy skyrocketed. Fans were standing on chairs, singing every word to “Backroad Therapy” and feeding off the raw emotion she brings so effortlessly. Her performance felt less like a concert and more like a shared release. Voices filling the room, emotions spilling over, and a collective sense of hope for love and healing. It was anything but quiet, everyone clearly felt the vulnerability she continues to share. Even admitting how genuinely moved she was by the crowd singing back just as loudly as she gave it, despite her recent runs through much larger arenas.

She truly put the Dusty’s acoustics to the test, proving her vocal power is as endless as her fan support. Performing alongside her guitarist, musical director and boyfriend, Rocko Beall, song requests shouted from the crowd were delivered on the spot, a testament to their authenticity and musical ability. New songs were met with the same thunderous response as fan favorites. From channeling unapologetic “Feminine Energy” to hitting “Straight For The Heart,” she closed the night on a high note. A reminder to everyone why she’s currently charting in the Top 50 on Country Radio and why her connection with fans runs far deeper than the stage lights.
