On This Day in 2002: @kennychesney released No Sho

On This Day in 2002: @kennychesney released No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems. It was Chesney's sixth studio album, and first to top the Billboard 200. The album produced five singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart between 2001 and 2003 with "Young" (#2), "The Good Stuff" (#1), "A Lot of Things Different" (#6), "Big Star" (#2), and the title track (#2).

"The Good Stuff" was the biggest hit of Chesney's career at the time, not only spending seven weeks at #1, but also becoming Billboard's Number One country single of 2002 according to Billboard Year-End. In 2004, the album was certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over four million copies in the United States.

@leannrimes will be performing at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater on Sunday, July 28 at 7pm as a part of the Mentor Rocks summer concert series.

Rimes is a Grammy, ACM, CMA and Dove Award winner and holds the record as Billboard’s Hot 100 all-time #1 hit by a female artist with “How Do I Live”, which currently ranks #6 on Billboard’s “Greatest of All Time: Hot 100 Songs” list.

Mentor Rocks is an all-ages event which promotes a festival-like atmosphere each week with an average of 7,148 attendees per performance.

In addition to great music, attendees can enjoy a great selection of food from area vendors as well as an assortment of beers and wines for those 21 and over. The venue features lawn seating, so bring your own blankets or chairs. Outside food is permitted although outside alcohol is not. Coolers will be checked at the gate. Overflow parking is available at the nearby Mentor Senior Center and Mentor High School. Please observe posted parking restrictions.

Admission and parking to all Mentor Rocks events are FREE of charge thanks to the generous support of Mentor Rocks sponsors.

@lukebryan takes a hard fall during his performance at Coast City Country Fest in Vancouver, BC, Canada, on Saturday night, after a fan threw a cell phone on stage during his performance of “I Don't Want This Night To End."

The 47-year old country star seemed alright and joked about it after finding someone in the crowd who had caught it on camera.

After handing the cell phone that caused him to slip and fall back to the owner, Luke joked, “It’s okay, my lawyer will be calling.”

The album's lead-off single "Sweet Thing", topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts a month before the album's release. Defying Gravity became Urban's first #1 album on the Billboard 200.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS STAPLETON
Born on this day in 1978 in Lexington, Kentucky, was @chrisstapleton. He moved to Nashville in 2001 to pursue an engineering degree at Vanderbilt University, but dropped out to focus on his music. He has become one of the most prolific songwriters, writing and co-writing over 170 songs, and co-writing six number-one country songs, which include @Kenny Chesney's "Never Wanted Nothing More", Josh Turner's "Your Man" and Luke Bryan's "Drink a Beer". Other artists to perform his work include Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, and Taylor Swift. He has also co-written with many artists such as Sheryl Crow and Ed Sheeran. He was the lead singer in two bands before he started as a solo artist, and finally released his solo debut album Traveller in 2015 to great critical acclaim. He has released five albums that have all reached #1 on the Top Country Albums Chart and produced the #1 singles, "Tennessee Whiskey," "Broken Halos" and "You Should Probably Leave." The Grammy, ACM and CMA award winner has been married to singer/songwriter Morgane Stapleton since 2007.
