Keith Urban returned to Blossom Music Center on Friday, June 27th and kicked off his set on the High and Alive World Tour with “Straight Line”, from his latest album, High. The energetic song nicely blends Urban’s country and pop influences, and he followed with another of his upbeat tunes with “Where The Blacktop Ends” from his 1999 self-titled debut.
From there Urban played songs from his more than a quarter century of music, mixed in with some of his favorite covers. His usual band mates from the last decade are not a part of the High and Alive Tour, which include his long time bass player and music director Jerry Flowers. But, Urban didn’t seem to miss a beat and featured multi-talented Natalie Stovall’s fiddle on “Till Summer Comes Around” and her voice in place of Carrie Underwood on the duet “The Fighter.”
Urban played to the crowd all night and even took a turn high-fiving fans in the crowd before heading to a small stage at the back of the Pavilion. From there Urban sang songs to some of his most loyal fans on the lawn before offering his guitar to one as their souvenir of the musical occasion.
Urban has mastered the stage and his guitar is like another appendage, and he always looks and sounds so excited to be performing. It’s no small wonder that the packed house at Blossom Music Center sat through traffic and sweated it out to see Urban do it all over again!
Joining Urban on the High and Alive World Tour are Chase Matthew, Alana Springsteen and Karley Scott Collins. Check out our photos from the show below, and be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok for videos from the show!
