The night kicked off with two rising country artists who brought plenty of personality to the Blossom stage. Emily Ann Roberts was every bit as spunky and sassy as fans have come to love. Effortlessly working the crowd and showing off her fun-loving personality. One of the sweetest moments came when a little girl joined her onstage for “Pretty in Pink”. She closed out her set with “Whipped,” proudly backed by her husband, Chris Sasser, who could be seen filming from the crowd.
Vincent Mason followed with clean, impressive vocals and an easy stage presence. His performance of “Wish You Well” had the audience reaching for their phones to capture the moment. While his “Oh Hell Yeah” cover brought an extra dose of fun. His harmonica playing was another standout, adding a classic country touch to his set and showcasing another side of his musicianship.
Thomas Rhett wasted absolutely no time turning Blossom into a party. Opening with “Make Me Wanna,” his full band immediately brought the energy, backed by an impressive light show. From the first song to the last, the crowd seemed to know every word, creating a roaring singalong that never let up. He didn’t miss a beat while simultaneously interacting with fans, grabbing phones for selfies and even stopping to sign autographs. His ability to make a venue the size of Blossom feel personal is a true talent, and his genuine joy onstage was impossible to miss. If there was ever a title for the king of crowd interaction, Thomas Rhett made a pretty convincing case for it Saturday night.
He eventually slowed things down with “Sky Fall,” showcasing his newer material. As thousands of fans illuminated Blossom with their phone lights, the venue transformed into a sea of stars. He then turned the energy right back up by bringing Emily Ann Roberts back to the stage for “Heads Carolina,” creating one of the most exciting collaborations. He kept the momentum going with “Where We Go,” his recent release with Marshmello which turned Blossom into what felt like Vegas nightclub as the entire crowd participated.
But amid all the lights, music and nonstop energy, Rhett also made room for something much more personal. He shared the emotional news that his sister in-law had recently received a cancer-free diagnosis, giving the audience a glimpse beyond the superstar onstage and into the person behind the music. By the end of the night, Thomas Rhett had delivered far more than a concert. He created a full-blown experience consisting of a country singalong, dance party, and somehow intimate family moment. He left a packed Blossom Music Center singing, smiling and feeling like they had been part of something special.
