26th Annual WGAR Country Jam Celebrates Country Music

on

The WGAR Country Jam 2017 marks the 26th year that WGAR-99.5FM has presented the country concert event and this year will see the festival head back to Berea, Ohio. The Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, that played host to the country music festival for so many years, will again be the setting for for the Country Jam this Saturday, August 19.

The annual event started 26 years ago as the Cleveland Country Music Festival at Voinovich Park, then known as Northcoast Harbor, and was also held at the IX Center. The move last year to Lorain and Black River Landing was not met with great reviews by the listeners and attendees, so WGAR decided to go back to the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds that has been the home for the majority of the 26-year history of the Country Jam.

The Country Jam 2017 line up includes Dan+Shay, Josh Turner, Thompson Square, Morgan Wallen, Dylan Scott, The Stickers and local favorite’s The Caliber Band. The schedule of the performers sets will not be announced until Saturday, but The Caliber Band will kick things off for the eitgth year in a row at 12pm.

The Autograph Tent, sponsored by Cedar Point, will also be back at the Country Jam this year. This is always a highly sought after part of the event, so you want to secure a voucher early as possible. The tent will be located near the fair’s main office. Many of the artists performing stop by the autograph tent to meet with fans, but not all artists are guaranteed to stop by the tent. Autographs are first-come, first-served. There will be a limited number of autograph vouchers per artist which vary as time will permit. Vouchers will be available at the actual autograph tent just prior to each artist signing and are artist-specific, so be sure to ask for the voucher of the artist you want to meet. There will be signage outside the tent that will specify times of each artist signing and will be updated several times during the day.

The Thirsty Cowboy Saloon at the Country Jam offers entertainment all day with The Styles Haury Band, this year’s winner of the WGAR Battle for the Jam. In addition, there is dancing, drinks and you can even take a ride on their mechanical bull.

Tickets for the WGAR Country Jam 2017 are $35 in advance and $50 at the gate on Saturday. Parking is $10 in advance, with ticket purchase, and $15 on the day of the event.
