Lainey Wilson leads list of CMA Award winners

Lainey Wilson was back as host for the 2025 CMA Awards and handling the duties for the first time as a solo act, she also took home three trophies including the coveted Entertainer of the Year.  Wilson also arnered her second win for Album of the Year for her latest Whirlwind, as well as, her fourth time earning the title Female Vocalist of the Year.

Ella Langley and Riley Green were also big winners on the night as their song, “you look like you love me,” was awarded Music Video of the Year, Single of the Year and Song of the Year. Brooks & Dunn winning their sixteenth Duo of the Year award wasn’t a big surprise, but Red Clay Strays winning their first CMA Award and taking the Vocal Group of the Year award, definitely was.

Other first time winners included Zach Top, who took honors as the New Artist of the Year and Cody Johnson won for the first time as Male Vocalist of the Year, his fourth CMA Award overall.

Wilson handled the hosting duties masterfully starting with a monologue medley of top country hits from the night’s attendees, as well as a special “Cowgirl of the Night” and even “Cowboy of the Night” moment with actor Alan Ritchson.  Wilson also performed “Ring Finger” from her Whirlwind album.

Good Morning America kicked off the day’s celebration by revealing two CMA Awards in their broadcast including a win for Post Malone feat.Blake Shelton in the Musical Event of the Year Pour Me a Drink.” This win serves as Shelton’s eleventh CMA Award win as his latest release “Stay County or Die Tryin’” is Top 10 and climbing at country radio.
