It may have been a little chilly for the kick-off to the summer concert series at Blossom Music Center but Jason Aldean, Chris Young and Kane Brown sure brought the heat by the end of the night.
It seems like just yesterday that Aldean himself was closing out the 2016 concerts series, a fan could be overheard saying while waiting in line. Aldean’s latest tour, “They Don’t Know” recently kicked off in Toledo in April. But, of course he brought it back to Blossom already because he knows how supportive Ohio is of Country Music.
The show kicked off with country newcomer and social media phenom, Kane Brown. Brown is however no newcomer to Northeast Ohio and the almost full pit was proof of that. He definitely got the crowd ready for what was sure to be one hell of a night.
Next on the lineup was the very talented vocalist Chris Young. This guy could sing the phone book and make it sound interesting. Young’s wide range and stage presence were hands done the best of the evening. Singing some of his classics including “Neon” and “Who I Am With You” got the crowd up on their feet and singing along to every word to his 12-song set. He even brought his duet partner Cassadee Pope along for smash hit “Think of You,” via video screen which the crowd enjoyed very much.
Between sets was Aldean’s buddy, Deejay Silver spinning the tracks and keep the crowd entertained and dancing. Silver’s eclectic mix of country, rock and dance kept the crowd up and going and having a blast.
Turning the heat up at Blossom on a chilly night would normally not be an easy feet but Aldean brought the heat and the energy right off the bat kicking off his set with his brand new single “They Don’t Know” A some may say risky song to start off with due to it’s popularity, the crowd didn’t seem to mind. Aldean’s 90 minute set had took the crowd on a ride on his “Big Green Tractor” and also slowed it down for the epic duet “Don’t You Want To Stay” in which via video screen, he sang with Kelly Clarkson. While there was minimal spoken word by Aldean he did say, “I don’t talk much in my sets, I’m hear to bring you as much music as I can,” and I believe that’s exactly what Aldean fans came to see.
It’s all about the music with Aldean, he included songs “Dirt Road Anthem,” “Amarillo Sky” and “Light Come On,” as well, in is 22-song set and the crowd knew every word.
Well done Mr. Aldean. I’d sure like to say Blossom enjoyed Your “Kinda Party.”
