on

Carrie Underwood, who just days before hosted the 51st annual CMA Awards, broke her wrist after taking a fall on the steps outside her Nashville-area home on Friday (11/10). According to one of the singer’s representatives she will be out of commission for a bit and also suffered some cuts and abrasions.

According to reports out of Nashville, Underwood was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated and was released. The 34-year-old singer’s husband, Mike Fisher, returned to Nashville overnight to be by her side.

“Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody … I’ll be alright … might just take some time …,” Underwood tweeted on Sunday (Nov. 12). “Glad I’ve got the best hubby in the world to take care of me.”

The statements released by Underwood’s representative also stated that the singer “appreciates all prayers and well wishes,” and that her recovery will “take some time.”  She was unable to perform at the Country Rising benefit on Sunday night (11/12) in Nashville due to the injury.
