Chicks, Zac Brown, Rascall Flatts Among June Shows

Blossom Music Center will host the long awaited return of the Dixie Chicks.  The Grammy award-winning group, will perform on Friday, June 3rd. The Grammy-winning trio will kick off its “DCX MMXVI World Tour” on June 1st in Cincinnati. The Dixie Chicks are Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire. Their last album, “Taking the Long Way,” was in released ten years ago in 2006. It won the Grammy for album of the year. And its hit single, “Not Ready to Make Nice,” won song and record of the year Grammys.

Robison and Maguire, who are sisters and original members of the group, teamed up to form the duo Court Yard Hounds and released albums in 2010 and 2013. Maines released her first solo album in 2013.

Montgomery Gentry

The country music duo of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, Montgomery Gentry, duo first met while playing for two different groups Eddie’s brother, John Michael Montgomery. The two first played as a group called, Deuces around Kentucky country bars, before signing on to Columbia Records as Montgomery Gentry in 1999. They will be playing for Ohio Bike Week in Sandusky on Friday, June 3rd.

Montgomery Gentry released six studio albums for Columbia Records Nashville and those albums have produced more than twenty chart singles for the duo on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including the number 1 hits “If You Ever Stop Loving Me,” “Something to Be Proud Of,” “Lucky Man,” “Back When I Knew it All” and “Roll With Me.”  Ten more of their songs have reached top 10 on the country charts, including the number 3 hit “Gone,” the most played country song by a duo in 2005.

Dolly Parton

What can you say about an icon. Dolly Parton has performed over the past five decades and her songs are as famous as her with hits like “Coat of Many Colors,” “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You” and, of course “9 to 5.” She will be performing at the Hard Rock Rocksino on June 10th.

She is touring in support of her latest album “Pure & Simple.” The album is a double disc collection of some of Parton’s most iconic songs, and some new songs that are sure to find their way into her live set.

Zac Brown Band

Zac Brown Band’s stage show reaches far behind the boundaries of country music, roping in everything from Metallica covers to EDM-inspired light displays. The group’s songs and sound are equally indebted to the band’s Georgia roots and their interest in Top 40 radio.

They have also charted sixteen singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs of which eleven have reached number 1 including “Chicken Fried,” “Toes,” “Highway 20 Ride,” “Free,” “As She’s Walking Away,” “Colder Weather,” “Knee Deep” and “Keep Me In Mind.”

The current tour, The Black Out the Sun Tour is inspired by a lyric from the song “Tomorrow Never Comes” on their latest album Jekyll + Hyde.

Rascall Flatts

From 2000 to 2010 Rascall Flatts released seven albums, all were certified platinum. They have 13 No. 1 singles on the Hot Country Charts including their longest-lasting number-one hit, a cover of Marcus Hummons’ “Bless the Broken Road” spent five weeks in that position in 2005. In 2005–06, “What Hurts The Most” was No. 1 on both the country and adult contemporary charts, and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Trace Adkins

If it seems like Trace Adkins was just in town, he was. Adkins played the sold out benefit show at Lorain Community College for the St. Jude Spring Jam. He will be returning with his show to the Hard Rock Rocksino on Sunday, June 26th.

He made his debut in 1995 with the album Dreamin’ Out Loud.  Since then, Adkins has released ten more studio albums and two Greatest Hits compilations. In addition, he has charted more than 20 singles on the Billboard country music charts, including the No. 1 hits “This Ain’t No Thinking Thing,” “Ladies Love Country Boys” and “Your Gonna Miss This.” “I Left Something Turned on at Home” went to No. 1 on Canada’s country chart. He has also made several appearances on television, including as a panelist on the game shows Hollywood Squares and Pyramid, and as the 2013 winner on The All Star Celebrity Apprentice.
