on

The CMA presented their 56th annual awards show at the Bridgesatone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday night (Nov. 9).

Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs and Cody Johnson led the list of winners with two awards each. Wilson took home the awards for New Artist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year. Combs’ album, Growin’ Up, was named the Album of the Year and he repeated as the Entertainer of the Year for the second year in a row. Cody Johnson, who had nominations in four categories saw his song, “Til You Can’t” named Single of the Year, as well as picking up the trophy for the Video of the Year.

The show kicked off with a tribute to the late Loretta Lynn, with Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood performing together. Jerry Lee Lewis, who died last month at age 87, was also honored in a performance by Elle King and The Black Keys.

Old Dominion reflected upon the recent death of Jeff Cook of Alabama, during their acceptance speach for Vocal Group of the Year.
