Mary Jane Thomas, wife of country music star Hank Williams Jr., has died, according to several news agencies.

Thomas was taken from Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa in Jupiter, Florida, to a local hospital around 5pm on Tuesday, where she was pronounced dead, a spokesperson for the area’s police department told reporters. She was 58 (though differing stories have her age at late 50’s to early 60’s).

Williams, 72, and Thomas were married about 30 years. She was a former model for Hawaiian Tropic suntan lotion. The two met in 1985 at a concert Williams performed in Washington State. They married five years later and had two children together – a daughter, Katie Williams-Dunning, and a son, Samuel Williams.

Williams-Dunning died in 2020 in a car accident in Tennessee at the age of 27. Her husband, Tyler Dunning, was in the vehicle and survived with critical injuries.

Her surviving brother, Sam, turned to social media in February of 2022 with claims that his father and his half-sister, Holly Williams, have been subjecting him to a conservatorship since shortly after his sister died.
