Jason Aldean was on stage when the deadly shooting took place on Sunday night at the Rt. 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, NV. The terrible event has left over 58 killed and more than 500 injured after the act of a 64-year-old Nevada man who shot an automatic weapon from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay overlooking the concert goers.
Aldean has released a statement on the event on his Instagram account.
“Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still don’t know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that me and my crew are safe. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night.”

Aldean’s and his band abruptly stopped mid-song and ran off the stage at the festival. At first, however, he kept singing through the gunfire because he wasn’t sure what was happening. Others in the concert thought they were hearing fireworks.
The video below shows people screaming as the gunman fires multiple rounds on the crowd, with one woman yelling, “Oh my god,” and others calling on others to “Get down.”
