Justin Moore made his way back to the stage at the Knox County Fair in Knoxville, Illinois. The singer had taken a hiatus to focus on health and revealed he recently completed a 30-day rehab program.
Moore took time during the show to explain the reason for his absence, and revealing that he had just reurned from rehab, after he realized that his drinking was becoming more of a problem.
“I’ve been wondering how I was going to handle this when I got back on stage for the first time in over a month, and I just decided to handle it this way about five minutes ago,” Moore said. “There was a lot of speculation… but my drinking got out of control… but I let down my band and my crew and most importantly, God, my family.
Moore then confessed, “So I just got out of rehab for 30 days. This is my 31st day sober, and I’m going to try to help as many people from this point forward till my last days on earth and hopefully set a much better example for my kiddos… I’m a Christian. I’m not as good of one as I want to be… God has given me so much, between my wife and our four awesome kids and my family, a career like this, so I’m trying from this point forward to use my platform even further than I ever have.”
