The City of Mentor announced their plans for this year’s Independence Day celebration which includes fireworks and a concert by Darryl Worley. The 4th of July festivities will return this summer after being canceled last year due to the coronavirus.
Worley, has released six albums which have produced 18 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including three #1’s from 2002-2005 – “I Miss My Friend”, “Have You Forgotten?”, and “Awful, Beautiful Life”, from 2002, 2003 and 2004–2005, respectively. “Have You Forgotten?” spent seven weeks at number one.
The celebration will be held at Mentor Civic Center Park (8600 Munson Road) on Sunday, July 4. Worley will perform on the main stage at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater at 8 pm, followed by a 25-minute fireworks display.
Food trucks will be set up to serve festival cuisine; and beer, wine and sparkling beverages will also be available to buy.
Amphitheater grounds open at 6 pm. Lawn chairs and blankets are permitted and encouraged! Coolers are okay to bring, but no pets or outside alcohol are allowed.
The city said COVID-19 protocols will be in place and concert capacity will be limited. No ticket is needed for the event, but entry will be on a first-come/first-served basis.
