Reba to Host Eighth Annual CMA Country Christmas

on

The eighth annual CMA Country Christmas will be hosted by Reba McEntire for the first time. She is taking over for Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles, who has hosted the program since 2010.

Joining Reba for the holiday extravaganza are Luke Bryan, Alan Jackson, Kelsea Ballerini, CB30, Dan + Shay, Brett Eldredge, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Dustin Lynch, CeCe Winans, Trisha Yearwood and Chris Young

According to a press release, “The show will have a new look and feel this year, making Reba’s first year as host a can’t-miss country music event.”

McEntire will also perform a song from her new album, My Kind of Christmas. The re-packaged album follows a limited release in 2016 and includes collaborations with Vince Gill and Amy Grant, Lauren Daigle, Darius Rucker, and Kelly Clarkson and Yearwood.

McEntire plans to bring a welcoming vibe to the show in 2017, as opposed to making it a “formal event.”

“But just a friendly ‘sit down, let’s sing, let’s talk a little bit, and then sing another song’ – and with lots of heartfelt emotion,” McEntire tells People, adding she wants to make it feel “personal,” “friendly” and comfortable.”

The 2017 CMA Country Christmas airs Monday, Nov. 27 at 8pm (ET) on ABC.
