Chris Cagle retired from country music in 2015, after 15 years of touring and performing. But, like many other musicians and pro athletes that left their chosen profession, he found that performing for his fans was what he still wanted to do. So, in 2019 he started to perform and has been adding more shows to his schedule since, including his return to Thirsty Cowboy in Medina on March 12.
Cagle first came to Nashville in 1994. He spent time working as a nanny, server, bartender, prep cook and golf caddy. He kept writing music and landed a publishing contract which led to writing songs for other singers, including David Kersh who recorded “I Breathe In, I Breathe Out.” But, Cagle wanted to perform, too.
It was one of those customers that he took care of that led him to his first recording contract with Virgin Records in 2000. He co-wrote and co-produced his debut, Play It Loud, which produced a top 10 single, “My Love Goes On & On”, a top 5 single “Laredo”, and Cagle’s only Number 1 single, “I Breathe In, I Breathe Out”.
His self-titled sophomore album made it’s debut at number 1 on the Billboard charts and produced two top 5 offerings, “What A Beautiful Day” and “Chicks Dig It”.
Cagle penned more songs that brought more success with hits like “Miss Me Baby”, What Kinda Gone”, “Got My Country On”, “Let There Be Cowgirls” and “Country By The Grace Of God”.
With a love of his fans and a passion for performing, it was no big surprise that Cagle came out of retirement, like many before him. We’re so glad he did.
Chris Cagle will be performing at Thirsty Cowboy in Medina on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Tickets are $31/Advance and $35/Day of Show (pending availability) and go on sale on Friday, December 13 at 10am at Thirsty Cowboy.com
