Cody Jinks Releases Cover of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here”

on

Cody Jinks shares alot of the same views as rock super group Pink Floyd did at the height of their career. Both have been openly critical of the music industry and the greed that surrounds it.  Jinks recently recorded and released the 1975 Pink Floyd song “Wish You Were Here” filled with pedal steel, but staying true to the original classic.

The song, which was originally written by Roger Waters and sung by David Gilmour, was the title track to their follow up to the highly successful Dark Side of the Moon album. The single comes on the heels of Jink’s 2016 I’m Not The Devil, which too harbored the sentiments of a value system that is in decay and spiraling many life’s downward.

The single is available at iTunes and may or may not be included in an upcoming Jinks album. The song won’t be any ground breaking Country hit, but does show Jinks’ ability to relate the emotions of the song in his own style and make it feel fresh and new again.
