Many folks might remember Curtis Grimes from season one of The Voice. The Texas native auditioned in 2011 with a cover of Coach Blake Shelton’s “Hillbilly Bone,” but finished in the Top Ten as a contestant with Coach Ceelo Green. After his appearance on the show he has continued to make music and will bring the songs from his four studio albums to Mosquito Lake Marina in Cortland, Ohio on August 10.
Since he began playing country music in San Marcos, Texas back in the early 2010’s, Grimes has become a mainstay of the Texas music scene. In 2014, his hit single “Home to Me” was picked up by national salon chain “Supercuts” and placed in the mainstream spotlight. Grimes was not only getting some recognition for the song, but also got to try out his acting chops and was featured in the national campaign. Later that same year Grimes started to see the hard work pay off when he was awarded “New Male Vocalist of the Year” at The Annual Texas Regional Radio Award Show.
His most recent album Undeniably Country was released in November of 2016 and debuted at #16 on Billboard Heatseekers. The album features songs such as fan favorite “From Where I’m Standing” co-penned by Chris Janson and his latest single “Born To Die.”
Curtis Grimes will be performing at Mosquito Lake Marina (1439 Wilson Sharpsville Road) in Cortland, Ohio on Friday, August 10 at 6pm. This is a FREE show.
