Johnny Cash is the 21st Annual Music Masters Honoree

on

Johnny Cash, and his music, are loved by just about every musician in every genre of music. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame after it had only been in existence for six years and now the country music icon will be the 21st Annual Music Masters Honoree for the Rock Hall.

Cash started his career at Sun Records with rockabilly and country, but carved a niche later in life with his American Recordings music that saw him cover such music as Depeche Mode, and Nine Inch Nails.  Those recordings, along with his 2002 cover of Trent Reznor’s “Hurt” brought him a new audience that were more familiar with his name and not his music at that point in his life.

The Rock Hall will honor Cash with a week long celebration that will culminate with a show at Playhouse Square’s State Theatre on Friday, October 21.  Details of those who will be performing have yet to be announced, but one can be sure that a long list of musicians and singers will be ready to be here for the tribute.

The shows details, as well as ticket prices will be announced in September, but a limited number of VIP Packages starting at $300 are available at the Rock Hall’s office at 216-515-1201.
