Scotty McCreery will be performing at the Guitars For Girls benefit for the Susan G. Komen Foundation at the Hoke Theatre at Stocker Arts Center on October 3. Local favorites The Caliber Band will open the show at 7pm.
McCreery was the youngest winner of American Idol in 2011 and later that year released his first studio album Clear as Day, which also made history as he became the first country artist and youngest male artist of any genre to debut at #1 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. Since then he has repeated with three other albums that have all made their debut at #1 on a Billboard Albums chart.
The multi-platinum artist was named the ACM New Artist of the Year in 2011 and won the CMT Music Award for Breakthrough Video of the Year for “The Trouble with Girls” in 2012 and the American Country Awards for new Artist of the Year in 2011 and Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2013. In 2016, McCreery released his first book, Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream. His current album, which debuted at No. 1, is Seasons Change featuring his Platinum-certified No. 1 hit “Five More Minutes” and new single “This Is It.”
