When Terri Clark was inducted in the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame she said that this was a great time to start a new chapter of her career. With her latest album Raising The Bar, she does just that.
The album, her 11th studio project, shows that she still has it with a collection of 13 songs that are filled with great stories that fit her style perfectly.
Clark brings all of her new music, as well as her hits from her over twenty year career, to the Dusty Armadillo in Rootstown on September 22.
After she released the first single “Young as We Are Tonight,” Rolling Stone magazine hit the nail on the head with a review that said “Backed by an aggressive beat and featuring Clark’s rich, twang-tinged vocals, the tune extols the virtues of small-town life, capturing colorful snapshots of a county-fair midway and encouraging young people to drink life in to its fullest because ‘the truth is you and I, we’re never gonna be as young as we are tonight.”
Other notable tracks on the album include “Cowboys In This Town,” “Weddings, Funerals, and Empty Hotel Bars and “The One That Got Away,” which features vocals from Drake White.
The 50-year-old, Canadian born singer’s previous albums have produced more than 20 singles on the charts, including six #1’s. “If I Were You,” “Poor Poor Pitiful Me,” “Emotional Girl” and “In My Next Life” all topped the country charts in Canada, “Girls Lie Too” reached #1 only in the U.S. and “You’re Easy on the Eyes” was #1 in both countries.
Terri Clark will be performing on Saturday, September 22 at the Dusty Armadillo in Rootstown, along with special guest Nate Kenyon. Doors open at 7pm; Kenyon takes the stage at 9pm and Clark at 10pm. Tickets are $22/Advance; and $27/Day of Show and are available at DustyA.com. 18+ show.
