Trace Adkins gets the chance to mix his traditional country style with his rock ‘n roll side in his latest single, “Lit.” The rowdy and fun song was written by songwriters Monty Criswell, Derek George and Mickey Jack Cones, and slips a little love in the story with the lyrics, “Slide on over, move a little closer with that four-alarm, fire-engine red on your lips. So hot, you got me smoking. Girl, you got it going on. You the only one with a kiss that gets me lit.”
Adkins has had the opportunity to show his rock ‘n roll side before, but “Lit” seems more radio friendly and has just enough of an edge for today’s country music. If nothing else, the song will get the crowd going in concert and I am sure that they will have some fun making the video.
Adkins will debut “Lit” on the morning cable talk show, “Fox & Friends” on Friday, July 1st. The single will also be available for download on iTunes the same day, but here is a sneak peek of the new song that was streamed earlier this week on the “Fox & Freinds” website. Hear it Here
