on

The WGAR Battle For The Jam – FINALS will take place this Thursday, July 26 at Thirsty Cowboy with Wreck’n and County Line competing for this year’s title. The two local country acts had the highest scores during the preliminary rounds of the competition at the Medina country venue.

Wreck’n formed in 2016 and has been performing at venues all over Northeast Ohio, including the WGAR Cleveland Browns Tailgate Parties at Tequila Ranch. The high-energy modern country band includes Mike Masterson-Lead Vocals; Bob Mason- Bass/Vocals; Jeff Jaeger- Drums/Vocals and Tim Reddy- Lead Guitar/Vocals.

County Line came together in 2012 and were the winners of the Battle For The Jam in 2016. The group has recently started releasing their own original songs and have been performing at area festivals throughout the summer and will open for LANCO on Tuesday, August 7 at the Richland County Fair in Mansfield. The versatile country musicians include Joe Stimmell – Vocals/ Rhythm Guitar; Ted Grindstaff – Rhythm Guitar; Ben Schnell – Bass Guitar and Josh Wireman – Drums.

The winner of the Battle For The Jam will perform at Thirsty Cowboy Saloon at the WGAR Country Jam on August 18 at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds and will be a part of the Main Stage entertainment at the event in 2019. They will also be invited to open for a national touring act at Thirsty Cowboy in Medina later this year.

One of the biggest factors in the voting will definitely be the crowd participation and applause – so come out and cheer your favorite on or just enjoy a great night with two of the area’s best country bands.

The Finals of the Battle For The Jam will be hosted by WGAR’s Morning Show DJ, LeeAnn Sommers and will also include chances to WIN tickets to the Country Jam during the evening. The doors open at 7pm and the first act begins at 9pm. The event is open to anyone 18+ over and best of all –  FREE Admission!
