Carrie Underwood Reveals More About Her Fall in November

Carrie Underwood, who took a fall at her Nashville home back in November, has disclosed that the accident involved more than just a broken wrist and included getting treated for cuts to her face, as well.

Underwood, wrote in a note to her fan club that the tumble also resulted in a severe facial cut that required “40 to 50 stitches.”

The Grammy winner, who is also the face of Olay and Almay, said that it took some time before she was ready to talk about the incident. That may be why she has not been very visible on social media, except for a selfie showing her bundled up in a scarf last week.

“I am determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way,” she wrote in her fan club blog. “And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different.”

Despite the singer’s remark, no one else seems to notice the difference.

“Below Deck” star Adrienne Gang ran into Underwood at the gym last month and had no inkling that anything had happened to the singer’s face.

“I had no idea she got hurt prior to meeting her,” Gang told Us Weekly on Tuesday. “She had a wrist brace on, but I didn’t think much of it until I saw the headlines after I posted our picture together. I didn’t notice anything amiss on her face. Simply, she looked lovely. She was extremely friendly and gracious.”

“I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up,” Underwood added in her letter. “It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life.”

The 34-year-old singer had to back out of performances after the surgery and is still on the mend. She doesn’t know her full prognosis, but said she’s grateful.

“I am grateful that it wasn’t much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way,” she said.
