Lainey Wilson Receives Nine CMA Award Nominations

on

Lainey Wilson has already garnered six nominations at her first CMA Awards last November. This year she confirms her place in Country Music with nine nominations, including the coveted Entertainer of the Year award.

The 57th CMA Awards ceremony will again be hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning and broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 8 from 8pm-11pm (EST) on ABC.

First time nominee, Jelly Roll has five nominations; Luke Combs and HARDY each have four nominations; Jordan Davis, Ashley McBryde, producer/mix engineer Joey Moi, songwriter/producer Jordan Schmidt, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen and musician/producer Derek Wells all have three nominations apiece.

Entertainer of the Year category will see Wilson in competition against Combs, Stapleton, Wallen and Carrie Underwood.

Wilson, the CMA’s reigning Female Vocalist and New Artist of the Year, is the only artist to top the nominations list in her first two appearances on the ballot. The nine nominations put her in a tie with Merle Haggard and Miranda Lambert, and behind Alan Jackson’s 10 nominations in 2002 on the all-time list.

Nashville native Jelly Roll, joined Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Maren Morris, Willie Nelson and Gretchen Wilson as a five-time nominee in his first year of consideration on the ballot. Jelly Roll is up for Single, Male Vocalist, Musical Event, Music Video and New Artist.

Akron’s own home of Country Music, WQMX 94.9FM was nominated for the CMA Broadcast Awards in the Station of the Year – Medium Market category.
