About the band: Chad Baker started singing at an early age and picked up strumming the six-string a few years later. By the age of 15 he was already performing at local bars and clubs and has been at it since then. In 2016 he embarked on his Wild West Tour. The tour started in February in Cincinnati and had stops in Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. The 22-show tour had Baker on the road for two months. One of the most memorable parts of his journey was the fact that Baker took time out while he was traveling to perform at homeless shelters for those who might not have the chance to enjoy live music.
Baker and his band have been back in Ohio and performing limited engagements while working on his first studio project. “Ride,” which was released in February is one of the many songs that Baker has written and will follow with a self-titled EP later this spring. The Akron based singer has opened for Josh Thompson at Thirsty Cowboy in Medina, Mark Leach and Sundy Best at Musica in Akron and Chris Cavanaugh at Tin Roof in Cincinnati.
Why you should see their show: Chad Baker and his band bring a no frills approach to their shows. The group finds their strength in performing good Country music mixed with a little Southern Rock without relying upon light shows or stage antics. Though Baker may still be young, his persona embodies that of countless Country singers that have made a name for themselves with their songs and the lyrics. His set list includes everything from classic Country to Modern Country with some of his original songs, as well.
