Shane Owens’ “19” Delivers Military Salute

on

Shane Owens’ patriotic tribute song, “19” ranks among the best songs about the military, with lyrics that are reminders of what those protecting our country’s freedom face every day. The song tells the story of a local football star signing up for the military straight out of high school and right after the terror attacks on September 11, 2001. In the end he pays the ultimate sacrifice.

The song is not only connecting with his audience, but also getting high praise from military families. Nearly every live performance of “19” has Owens’ hearing another story of personal loss reminding us that this story is being lived out in cities and small towns all over this country.

The Neo-traditional country singer is always looking for ways to support our military and is donating 100% of net proceeds of this single to the TAPS organization. The TAPS organization offers help, hope, and healing to all those grieving the death of a loved one serving in America’s Armed Forces.

Recently named by Rolling Stone Country as one of the “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know,” Owens has been building a pretty big fan base all around the Southeast U.S. for more than a decade. His powerful baritone voice and strength of the lyrics in his songs helped him to open the show for a number of national Country artists in the mid-2000’s, and he caught the ear of a Nashville executive who signed him to a record deal. Unfortunately, the album he recorded was never released due to all the changes happening with Country music at the time. But, Owens carried on as strong as the lyrics of his songs and was signed to another deal and released his Amerimonte Records debut, Where I’m Comin’ From last December.
