Danielle had previously shared that she received a cancer diagnosis about the same time as Dolly, and unknowingly was battling at the same time as her aunt. @reba got emotional while paying tribute to her fr @reba got emotional while paying tribute to her friend @dollyparton. Reba was the first to speak at the “CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton."

"We could be here all night talking about the songs she's written," Reba started. "The award she's won, and all the things she's accomplished. But tonight is not about that... tonight is a celebration of Dolly's heart, her kindness, her generosity, her faith, her humor, and the way she has always seemed to understand that the greatest thing you can be in this world is exactly who God made you to be."

Reba went on with more stories of Dolly and their decades long friendship. Getting a little teary eyed during parts of her speech.

"She reached the very top, but on that journey, from a one-room mountain cabin to the summit of the entertainment world, she never forgot the people still climbing."

"And she never forgot where she came from."

During their show at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, Democratic Senate candidate @jamestalarico praised them for their courage and willingness to speak truth.

“I have loved the Chicks for as long as I can remember. Their music, their songwriting, their harmonies, and also what they represent. First and foremost, Texas excellence," Talarico said after being welcomed onstage. "We are so proud that The Chicks are from Texas, but also courage, conviction and a willingness to speak truth to power. In a time when too many artists sell out, The Chicks remind us that if we've been given a voice, we have a responsibility to use it… They are the best of country music. They are the best of Texas. They are the best of us. Thank you for having me. God bless y’all. God bless Texas and God bless The Chicks.”
