on

Name of the Band/Act: Bare Bones

When did band form: 2013

Members: Elliott Cox – Rhythm Guitar/Lead Vocals; Adam Haynam – Lead Guitar/Vocals and Dan Diehl – Percussion.

About the band: Bare Bones first came together as a duo back in 2013 when Cox and Haynam set out to play acoustic country & rock shows at many small bars every month. As their appeal grew, so did calls from larger venues and that is when they added Diehl to help fill out their sound on drums. The Massillon based trio not only strives to make good music, but has a great time doing it.

Cox, grew up on country music and bluegrass. He was the youngest of ten children in a very musical family and tried to find his own style from influences of George Jones, Hank Williams, Jr., Vince Gill and George Strait. His father was also a lead guitarist in local bands from the 70’s-90’s and was strongly rooted in country music. Haynam is an 80’s rock guru from the word go and his style has been created from rock groups like Ratt, Def Leopard and Motley Crue. He also learned from his father and at a young age he instilled the art of live music and professionalism into him. His musical career has spanned over three decades, though he never stops learning, teaching and having fun. Diehl may be the newest member of Bare Bones, but his fun personality fits the group perfectly. The kind of wit where you want to know what he is going to say next. His band mates describe him as the kind of drummer most bands would love to have with a range of diversity from country to rock to hip hop, and always finding the pocket.

Even with their experience, the one things that comes to the forefront about Bare Bones is their camaraderie and the level of fun that they bring to each other on stage and those that come to see them perform.

Why you should see their show:  Bare Bones is a very eclectic group, while their main focus is always country music they add touches of rock, blues and even little hip hop when the moment calls for it. On any given night they will perform songs from George Jones, Luke Bryan, Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn, Bon Jovi, Lynard Skynard and even some Bel Biv DeVoe, just for fun. They try to do songs that everyone loves and recognizes and put in their own style without losing the original flavor of the music. Their “just for fun” attitude is an appeal of their shows, and they strive to make sure everyone is having a good time. Watching them perform and joke around with each other makes you feel like you’re hanging out with friends.
