About the band: Hottwired got their start almost ten years ago and have made some personnel changes over the years, but the one thing that has stayed the same is their love of the music and performing. The group was formed by Wallick in 2007 and he came up with the name of the band after hearing the Nashville session musicians Brent Mason guitar instrumental, “Hot Wired.” He also handles all of the day-to-day business for the group including the bookings, promotions and sound.

The current members have always wanted to play together in the band and bring a combined 100 years of experience to Hottwired. The year’s of performing not only bring great seasoned veterans, but also a knowledge of songs. They are happy to take a request and usually know the song, no matter if it’s old or new.

Hottwired has a passion for the country music of the 80’s and 90’s, and cover everyone from Merle Haggard, George Jones and Waylon Jennings. They also add some more modern country with songs by Thomas Rhett and Jason Aldean and fill out their set list with some classics from the Allman Brothers and the Marshall Tucker Band.

The Massillon based band has played fairs, festival and a long list of clubs and private parties. They will make their debut at the Whiskey Barrel in New Philadelphia on Saturday, September 30.

Why you should see their show: People have been going to see Hottwired for years because they love to dance and have a good time. The group even gets interactive and has the crowd sing along when the song is right. They welcome country song requests and their guitar players know just about every one that has been suggested.  They also add a great fiddle player in Kolm, who has experience in bluegrass, as well. The members just love to perform and often challenge each other to duels with fiddle and guitar, which just adds to the fun and excitement of their shows.
