About the band: The Buckshot Band originally formed when Jimmy Carter was President. Two of the founding members, Aden and Paces, have been with the group since the beginning and have played an eclectic mix of everything from Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Country, Oldies, and some home grown original music over their time together. The band toured up and down the east coast and performed all over Northeast Ohio for years. Currently, they perform mostly weekends at many private events and clubs.
Aden and Paces added Loughner on lead vocals after finding her in a karaoke contest that they were judging over nine years ago. They feel that she is definitely one of the best female vocalists in the area, if not the entire state. Haley joined the group four years ago and has an extensive resume in live music and was a founding member of one of the area’s top live bands, Raising Cane. Wharton was added three years ago is the newest member of the group. His resume includes years as one of the top bass players in various bands throughout the region.
Buckshot Band decided to focus primarily on country music about four years ago, playing on the strength of the steel pedal playing of Aden. Their sound fit the genre perfectly and was an easy transition for the highly accomplished members. Their set list is still a wide ranging one that can include everything from “Rocky Top” to “Uptown Funk.”
The Lorain based band has played the Medina County Fair, Ohio State Fair, Valley City Street Fair, Wadsworth Blue Tip Festival, Brookpark Home Days, Columbia Station Home Days, Lodi Corn Festival and many other fairs, festivals and clubs. The band has also had the honor of opening shows for Steve Wariner, Beaver Brown Band, Sam & Dave, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Waylon Jennings and they backed up Mickey Gilley and Mel McDaniel.
Why you should see their show: Buckshot Band knows how to perform to a live crowd, their years of experience speak volumes about what they bring to each show. Their range of music is heavy on country music, but they can easily mix it up with classics, oldies and some classic rock tunes. The music they play is all live – no sequencing or backing tracks. They feature the vocals of Loughner, and the musicianship of Paces, Wharton Haley and Aden, who also adds his banjo and steel pedal to create their rich sound.
