About the band: Erica Dawn has had a passion for music and performing ever since she was 11-years-old and was given a solo in a Christmas play. Since then the singer has been working on her craft, first in the choirs of middle and high school and then at Walsh University, where she pursued education in music. The country rocker has a voice that has been trained in country and rock, as well as, classical and opera. Before she decided to pursue her own music as a solo act, Dawn filled in with the Buck Naked Band and Backroads when they needed a lead female singer.

When the Akron based singer/songwriter started her own band, one of the first people she called upon was Allen, who not only is a member of the band, but also collaborates on songwriting. Dawn found the rest of the members of her band by being in the local music scene for years.

Dawn released her first EP, The Break of Dawn in 2016 and her follow up EP, This Bottle was released earlier this year. She has been the recipient of many awards and accolades including: Akron Beacon Journal’s Top Band, Canton Repository’s Best Live Local Act, second place finish in the Akron Canton Hot List for Top Band and was named the Top Artist at the House of Blues Live Music Showcase.

Dawn has opened for national touring acts including Brooke Eden and Jacob Bryant, and will open the show for Uncle Kracker at Dillinger’s Entertainment Center in Bucyrus, Ohio on Saturday, November 25.

Why you should see their show: Erica Dawn and her band are known for their high energy country rock show. They perform mostly originals, but do add a few rock and country covers including a medley based on “Wild Thing” with their own unique country rock version. They strive to bring an entertaining show that people will remember and add a few surprises in their set along the way. Dawn and her band bring a very professional show that has garnered them a strong following, as well as praise from everyone from music writers to club owners.
