Local Band Spotlight: Northern Whiskey

on

Name of the Band: Northern Whiskey

When did Band form: 2014

Members: Joshua Lee Nelson – Lead Vocals/Acoustic Guitar; Bryan Patrick – Lead Guitar; Carl Fife – Drums; Rick Earnhardt – Keyboards and Garry Palcisco – Bass.

About the Band: Northern Whiskey came together after two friends, and former band mates, Palcisco and Fife decided that Northeast Ohio needed a high energy country band that also performs Southern Rock and some Classic Rock. The group’s set list can contain everything from Dwight Yoakam, Toby Keith and Trace Adkins to Rolling Stones, Doobie Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The seasoned musicians who make up the band not only love the music they play, but love to perform. Their legion of fans are loyal in following the band to their shows, some to listen to the music and others to dance, but all come because they know that Northern Whiskey will bring out the music they love with a lot of fun, too.

The Youngstown/Warren, Ohio based band has performed all over Northeast Ohio with shows at River Rock at the Amp (Warren Amphitheatre), Trumbull County Fair, Cortland Street Fair, Mt. Carmel Festival, Jamboree at the Lake (Lake Tavern) and many other summer festivals. They are currently working on original material that they will be recording for an upcoming EP and can be found this month at Truck World in Hubbard for their Driver Appreciation Days and at Up A Creek Tavern in Warren.

Why you should see their show: Northern Whiskey takes pride in their live shows and the reviews from their fans is evident. The band has fun, when the crowd is having fun! They have a great lead singer in Nelson, but their harmonies are on point and Fife not only plays drums, but surprises many with his vocal talents. The band works hard to get people on the dance floor and then keep them dancing all night long. With great covers and a diverse set list the band knows how to keep the crowd happy wherever they are performing. From Modern Country to Classic Country, with some Southern Rock and some Classic Rock they appeal to lovers of many musical genres and always like to close out with a fan favorite, Garth Brook’s “Friends In Low Places.”
